Guelph Kayak Club Reaches 100 Members

Milestone!
On Friday night (May 29th), the Guelph Kayak Club officially hit it's June 3oth target of 100 paid members - almost a month early! Our 99th and 100th members are Shane and Jack Carrol. For being the 100th member, Shane received complimentary GKC t-shirt as well as both of them were able to take home the hand crafted cardboard cutouts of their respective member numbers.
A big mention is to be made to Wayne "Hawkeye" Donison, who has been the mastermind behind the membership model and a pivotal force to making the 100 member landmark in 2009.
Compliments of Wayne is a graph of membership extrapolated and transposed over a river flow chart of the Upper Grand last July.
Further thanks goes out to all of the other club members (who I am not planning to mention) that have been representing the GKC at the river and paddling events across the globe - making us the premiere whitewater club in Ontario.
Future membership events include our new canvasing campaign in the KW region. We will be going door to door selling memberships to prove that you not only do not have to be in the Guelph area to be part of the club, you don't even have to be a kayaker!
