Welcome to the Guelph Kayak Club PDF Print E-mail

Welcome to the online home of the Guelph Kayak Club!

Based out of Guelph and surrounding regions (members from all of the Tri-cities of Kitchener/Waterloo/Cambridge, Fergus, Hamilton, the GTA and more), we are one of the most active and established clubs in South Western Ontario. The Guelph Kayak Club (GKC) is a network of safety conscious paddlers at all skill levels. You will always find members on and off the river, willing to assist new paddlers to get started in the sport or old paddlers looking to join up with a responsible crew. We are on the rivers all year round, from freeze-in to thaw-out and like nothing more than a fresh new face out on the water.

For those new to the site - please create an account by clicking on "Create an account" on the left side of the main page. This will create your account for both the portal features and for posting on the discussion forums.

Before you go wandering off, please read below and get involved in some of the different aspects of our online community:

Forum - The forum is a place where we discuss paddling and non-paddling related things in a safe, non-toxic environment. If you are new to the area, new to the sport, new to the internet - feel free to ask as many questions as you want as we are always glad to help.

River Beta - This section is not complete, but will soon contain beta for all of our favourite rivers across the map. While we do spend the majority of our time in Elora, we are always venturing out to explore new rivers.

Articles - A list of archived articles from the past. A good place to catch up on old news.

Trip Reports - This is an organized list of current and past published trip reports that club members have ventured out on. Who knows, you might learn something new!

Events - This section is a blown up view of the GKC events calendar that you can see located on the right hand side of the webpage. It lists in chronological order, the various scheduled club and non-club events. You can also log in to sign up and show you are participating in a particular the event. If you have questions about any of the events, feel free to post them on the forum.

Gear Reviews - Do you have a piece of gear that you really love and want to share your experience with others? A piece of gear that you hate and want to make sure no one else buys? Want to see what other people are saying before you buy a new boat? Visit the reviews section for comments and ratings of all the latest kayaking equipment.

Skills Section - Coming soon, our skills section will feature paddling guides written by our panel of local experts!

If you have any questions or comments, post them on the forum or feel free to e-mail This e-mail address is being protected from spambots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .
